You are ALL invited to the

Mega Food Carnival & Jumble Sale 2009!

Come for a real fun time! There’s plenty of great Penang food and great bargains at the jumble sale of new and used items.

Date: 29 August 2009, Saturday

Time: 10.00 am – 4.00pm

Venue: PISA Concourse, Bayan Baru,

Penang, MALAYSIA

The purpose of the Mega Food Carnival is for Fund Raising in aid of our new Multi-Purpose Ministry Complex (MMC) situated on the Jelutong Expressway, Penang, Malaysia. We are targeting to raise about RM500,000 from this Mega Food Carnival, and we truly appreciate your support.

There are long-term plans for a dialysis center and day-care centers where we can safely leave our young children and elderly parents in the hands of capable staff while we go to work. We want to use the MMC to reach out to the youths, the handicapped, the poor and the needy.

We are raising funds to put up the building which can seat about 2000 people, and includes children ministry, youth ministry, hospital ministry, Bible Study and other Christian ministries, to help people to know the Lord better. We have to raise about RM20 million in total to be able to put up the building.

For overseas and outstation friends, we value contributions of any amount for this fund raising project.

Penangites, please come and support this event with your presence and your stomachs! *grin*

We truly appreciate your support! :)

God Bless YOU for your generosity!

Anxiety Cortisol

During anxiety, cortisol is released in our bodies whenever we face tense and anxious moments. The adrenal glands in our bodies secrete a type of “fight-or-flight” hormones called cortisol, together with adrenaline. These stress hormones turbo-charge us to deal with the immediate emergency that we are facing. We feel energized, powered up, with clarity of mind to make instant important decisions.

In our high-stress culture, our body’s response to stress is activated so frequently, that it is not given a chance to return to normal.

Prolonged high levels of cortisol can lead to heart disease and damage our liver. Other negative effects might include higher blood pressure, higher levels of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and lower levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL), impaired cognitive performance, blood sugar imbalances such as hyperglycemia, suppressed thyroid function, decreased bone density, decrease in muscle tissue, weak immune system, slow wound healing, and even increased abdominal fat, also known as belly fat!
